Text - Size & Legibility
Size & Legibility | Tone of Voice | Style Guide
Part of our philosophy is inclusiveness. Therefore we want our materials to be accessible to as many people as possible. In order to facilitate this we have put together some simple guides on size of type and legibility.
Text sizes
- For main body copy we recommend using 11pt or larger
- We aim to put all important text in at least this size and should try to have as little 'small print' as possible.
Legibility
In order to keep our communication legible and accessible we should always consider the following points:
- Colour - Contrasting text from its background is easier to read. When printing standard documents on white make sure the main body text is either black or Age Concern blue.
- Spacing - The space between each line of text and between paragraphs should be set so it is clear to read and understand.
