Legal
This section covers some of the key legal information that you need to know when applying the Age Concern branding. It is important that you read this section carefully and that you comply with the information written below.
- Licensing agreement The use of the brand is controlled by a licence signed by each member of the Federation and by the Scotland & Wales. This agreement details the legal provisions of how each individual Age Concern can apply the brand guidelines. In practice they refer to the brand guidelines website as the current embodiment of the branding guidelines and legally oblige each licensee to follow these guidelines.
- Registered charity number There is a legal requirement for charities (with
over £10,000 annual turnover) to state that they are a registered charity but as good practice we
recommend that all Age Concerns do it. Age Concerns in England and Wales should generally state their
charity numbers in their materials, although there are other wordings that will comply with legal
requirements. It is recommended that one of the two following wordings are used:
- Age Concern Name, Registered Charity Number 123456
- Registered Charity Number 123456
- Use of the Federation line Some materials carry the federation line on their materials, 'Age Concern is a federation of registered charities.' Please note that this is can only be used on materials that are used throughout the federation. Any materials just used by a single Age Concern must carry the relevant charity number. Any Age Concern not in the federation such as in Wales cannot use this line and must have their own registered charity number on their materials.
